Dublin Port Tunnel

Dublin Port Tunnel, a 5.6 kilometer tunnel linking Dublin Port with Ireland’s national motorway system, is one of the largest urban tunnels of its kind in Europe. To maintain safety, the tunnel operators required a comprehensive and fully integrated security management solution to integrate various security systems. The goal was to have a single security management system at the main control room monitor to control the entire tunnel.

This case study shows how CEM’s AC2000 SE access control system was used to provide the tunnel with advanced access control while integrating intruder alarms and a large Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. AC2000 SE is a powerful security management system that also offers alarm processing, photo badging, and a high level of external systems integration. This single software solution gave the tunnel a central means of monitoring the entire tunnel site, creating a safe facility and environment for tunnel users.
