National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend
Honoring Our Heroes
Tyco’s support of firefighters and the fire service reaches beyond its work in fire protection. It extends to honoring those who have given their lives to protect others and to supporting their families.
Each year, all firefighters who died in the line of duty during the previous year are honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend in Emmetsburg, Maryland. The Memorial Weekend is a time for sharing and healing for the families of our fallen firefighters. And each year, volunteers from Scott Safety are there to support families and colleagues of those honored.
In addition to volunteering, contributions from Tyco have helped provide lodging and meals for immediate next-of-kin of firefighters and assist with travel expenses. This allows family members to participate in the public tributes, and in Family Day sessions conducted by trained grief counselors. Healing, wellness and grief therapy programs are available to families, and for fellow firefighters grieving the loss of a comrade.
“We are grateful for the commitment and humbled by the courage of the men and women of our fire services,” said Andrew Chrostowski, President of Scott Safety. “Our employees are honored each year to have the privilege of paying tribute to, and supporting the families of, our heroic firefighters.”
