ADT Pulse™ is a new solution currently available in North America that goes beyond traditional security to provide a higher level of control, connectivity and accessibility. Via secure access from web-enabled devices, customers can easily get a quick status of their home or business, remotely arm and disarm their security system, adjust lighting or thermostat levels, or view real-time video from cameras covering different areas of their premises, both inside and out. Customized schedules for turning the lights, thermostats and appliances on or off can be programmed and tied to alarm status, while event-based text messages can be sent to mobile devices, and so much more.

Fire Alarm System Service
TrueInsightSM Remote Service revolutionizes the way fire alarm system service is delivered. A web-based diagnostic technology, TrueInsight provides real-time information about the operating status of advanced Simplex® fire alarm systems. Issues can be identified and diagnosed remotely—sometimes before a customer even knows that a problem exists. A trained SimplexGrinnell technician can then be dispatched with the parts needed to quickly correct the problem and maximize system uptime. TrueInsight Remote Service is also helping SimplexGrinnell reduce its carbon footprint by enabling technicians to resolve issues on the first visit and eliminating some service calls altogether. This means fewer vehicle trips, less fuel consumption and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
Enabling Solar Thermal
Power Generation
One of the challenges that the solar industry faces is the ability to store and generate electricity from solar power when the sun is not shining. To address this issue, molten salt has been identified as an effective thermal storage mechanism. Tyco Flow Control has developed innovative products and solutions, including specially designed Vanessa™ triple offset valves and Raychem™ heat tracing systems, to allow for more effective use of molten salt. Tyco Flow Control works closely with the design engineers for solar thermal power plants to reach breakthrough solutions that will enable low-cost power generation for this exciting, emerging segment.
